I have just read a few postings that would put anyone off owning a
sighthound, lurcher, greyhound, deerhound. I have owned lurchers and
bred deerhounds for 30 years and am involved in lurcher rescue. Many
of these comments make them sound like lunatics, have any of you heard
of TRAINING. They are probably the easiest dogs to train I have ever
come across, they dont like the sound of a raised voice never mind the
use of an electric collar - you are out of your minds to think that is
necessary. I have kept deerhounds with and lurchers with cats,
rabbits small dogs and ferrets. Learn how to understand your
animals.

?? Where did you read these postings? I've owned greyhounds,
whippets, Borzoi and IGs for years and do greyhound rescue. I don't
think I've ever read any posts on the rec.pets.dogs newsgroups that
would put me off owning a sighthound. Although I disagree regarding
ease of training; they may be the easiest dog you've ever trained, but
not me.
